Richard trained for his profession at King's College in London and qualified in 1972. He came to work at Barnett and Reed shortly after in 1973 and took over the practice from the previous owners with Ian Reed in 1988.

In his spare time, Richard enjoys digital photography and travelling. He frequently visits Peru with his wife to see their family. Richard is fluent in Spanish and is also keen on various sports such as rugby, cricket and in particular tennis and golf.

Ian also trained to be a dental surgeon at King's College in London and qualified in 1984.

Ian has a keen interest in motorbikes, and has competed in races at Brands Hatch.
